A Delusion
Where do you reside? Is it in 4 walls
Is it in a woman, some money, some clothes and golds?
Home has never been a physical location
At least not since getting kicked out suffering abrasions
But a state of mind will transcend these limitations
And a single look is all it takes, mind’s eye to mind’s eye
To shatter the reality of struggling to find a dollar or two
Instead, entering a dreamscape where we’re the only two
As the world dissipates behind us and all that can be seen
Is the comfort and relief of understanding
But history repeats itself, the eternal recurrence we’re doomed to persist
Bouncing around from home to home, searching for stability
Although the syncopated rhythm of chaos is what echoes
And vibrates throughout every path my feet fall
When the eye contact breaks and I’m brought freefalling back to earth
I had shared in your mind’s split, in your break
That as beautiful as that moment was, the reality was
I’m still in the street, belly still empty, and it’s getting dark
